Coach’s Blog – Barons Streak Snapped

The Barons had their season opening winning streak snapped at 14 after dropping a 4-3 shoot-out decision to Spruce Grove Sunday. 

The Barons  started the trip their 13th straight win 2-0 over Sherwood Park. Austin Yadlowski (2nd) and Colten Meaver (3rd) provided the offence while goalie Tanner Jaillet stopped 30 shots for his 2nd shut Рout of the season. The shots were 37-30 for the MOB and the scoring chances were 22-12 for the Barons.

The Barons continued the trip with a 4-3 shoot -out win in Olds. The Barons blew a 3-1 lead with 8 minutes left before Colten Meaver scored the shoot-out winner. Kevin Miller (9th) Jetlan Houcher (6th) and Ryan Bloom (6th) scored in regulation. The Barons led in shots 39-31 and 16-9 in scoring chances.

The Barons looked very fatigued in dropping a 4-3 shoot-out decision to Spruce Grove. The Saints led 31-25 in shots and 15-10 in scoring chances. Colten Meaver (4th) and Jetlan Houcher (7th & 8th) scored for the MOB.
