The Oil Barons got a split decision at the AJHL Showcase this past weekend losing 6-0 to Brooks Friday and defeating Okotoks 2-1 Saturday in Spruce Grove.
The MOB were outshot 31-24 and out chanced 15-10 in defeat to the highly skilled Brooks team. The Barons had 36 hits in the game.
The Barons bounced back with a high energy 2-1 victory over Okotoks. The MOB outshot Okotoks 39-26 and out chanced them 17-11 while adding 31 hits in the game. Rookies Erik Pedersen and Alex Cromwell notched their first AJHL goals in the victory.

8 Oil Barons got attention from various NCAA scouts during the Showcase weekend.
The injury list continues to grow as Mike Marianchuk and Justin Fraser join Mike Green, Brock Maschmeyer, Sam House, Joey Stadnicki and Jordan Clark on the sidelines. Brock Maschmeyer is likely within a week of returning.
