Coach’s Blog – Baby 2 out of 3 ain’t bad!!

After the worst performance of the season in Okotoks the Barons bounced back to salvage 4 points from a southern road trip.

Friday in Okotoks the MOB got delayed in Calgary traffic arriving 50 minutes prior to the game. While the equipment and bus got there before the game the players didn't mentally show up till the 2nd period and therefore trailed 4-0 after 20 minutes. Joey Stadnicki scored his first career AJHL goal and Alex Cromwell notched his 5th. Kyle Campbell had 2 assists on the evening.

Saturday the Barons bonced back with a 4-2 victory in Canmore led by solid goaltending and timely scoring. Ethan Wood stopped 33 shots and Scott Pooley had 2 goals (4th/5th) and 2 assists on the night. Luc Lalor (7th) had the game winner and Danny Gayle (8th) sealed the win with an empty netter. Mike Marianchuk had 2 assists.

Sunday saw the Oil Barons win a gritty 3-2 decision against the Calgary Mustangs. Scott Pooley once again had 2 goals (6th/7th) and Parker Evans-Campbell scored his 5th. Luc Lalor added 2 assists and Tanner Jaillet was sharp in stopping 30 shots.
