FORT McMURRAY, AB (August 20, 2014) – The Fort McMurray Oil Barons are pleased to introduce Kathleen Robertsson as the team’s new Education Consultant.
In her new role, Kathleen will act as an information liaison with parents, local schools, and the Oil Barons’ office for younger players, as well as supporting the academic goals of graduating players looking towards post-secondary education both in Canada and the United States.
Kathleen has lived in Fort McMurray for the past 30 years, working at three local high schools in that time. She was previously a counsellor at Westwood Community High School and has for the last 6 years worked as a real estate agent in the Fort McMurray area.
Originally from Nova Scotia, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Francis Xavier University before completing a Master’s degree in Leadership at the University of San Diego.
Kathleen has already begun to make an impact with the organization, meeting with parents during the team’s recent main training camp.
The organization is proud to have Kathleen on board, and looks forward to her helping current and future Oil Barons reach their educational goals.
